As a licensed coaching professional, speaker, and founder of BreakThrough Life Coaching, Alan's purpose is to help others experience more love, energy, connection, and meaning in their lives. Alan specializes in helping men overcome "buffering" behaviors like overeating, overdrinking, binge watching, overworking, and other behaviors that allow us to avoid dealing with the underlying problems in our lives. 

Alan uses a tried and true cycle of experience to help you intervene in your own cycle. Alan's version of the cycle is a modern evolution of practices that date back to the Stoics and beyond. What is a Life Coach?

A life coach is not a therapist. I am not here to make a diagnosis. To make a sports analogy,  a therapist is like the team doctor. They keep you on the field and in the game. But if want to learn to play the game well, you need a coach.  I am here to help you move forward in life and make real progress. My job is to walk beside you as an ally, guide, and mentor. I have the tools and experience needed to help you get on track towards success, whatever that means for you. Coaching sessions offer clarity, insight, and awareness so my clients can gain control of their lives. Through a supportive but challenging environment I empower individuals to reach their fullest potential and create lasting transformation! The Caged Tiger

Many men are like a caged tiger at the zoo. Instead of going out and taking life by the horns, we survive off of what shows up in front of us. We want to be out there in the world making the most out of our experience, but the truth is, we don’t know how to get out of our cage. We end up either pacing the perimeter trying to figure it out alone, or we lay down and accept our fate. The good news is you are your own captor. You have put yourself in that cage and you can let yourself out.

Together, we will open the door of the cage, but you must have the faith in yourself and the courage to walk through.

Unfortunately, many of us know the life that Van Gogh was speaking of.  We stay inside the lanes of our current lives. We fear failure so we miss out on even daring to dream of the life we could have. It takes courage to try. Men want confidence, but they may be lacking the courage to build their capabilities first. A men's coach will help you find the courage to work toward your dreams and view failure as a necessary step.
